Overview
Letter is an entrance door that transforms a flat plane into a three-dimensional form. Its design is based on a single line drawn from the surface, pulling the surrounding planes forward to create both the door’s sculptural form and its functional opening.

Brief
The aim was to rethink the entrance door as more than a flat, conventional surface, while keeping the design simple, functional and suitable for architectural applications. The result needed to create a distinctive entrance without relying on a traditional door handle.

Approach
A single aluminium plate is bent to form the entire door, keeping the production process as direct as the design itself. As the planes are pulled forward, they create a recessed slot that functions as an integrated handle, allowing the door to open and close without additional hardware. The door can be made entirely from metal or combined with a glass panel positioned on the lower surface to bring in more light. An LED strip can also be integrated into the slot, turning the functional detail into a subtle source of illumination. The result is an entrance element that transforms a familiar flat plane into a memorable architectural gesture.
