Overview
Layers of Christmas is a light installation designed for Advent Zagreb, on Masarykova and Stara Vlaška street. Layers of gently swaying fabric, tinted in pastel tones, bring a quieter reading of Christmas to the city center.

Brief
Katapult, on behalf of the Zagreb Tourist Board, needed a piece for the Advent program that would hold its own along streets otherwise filled with vibrant, conventional decoration.

Approach
Rather than compete with the brightness of the wider Advent décor, the installation works against it. Soft fabric layers in pastel hues, moving gently instead of blinking or flashing, give the street a calmer, more elegant moment amid the season’s usual visual noise.
