Overview
Bloom Icon is a freestanding bar cabinet that rethinks the cabinet as an object in space. Positioned centrally on a single pole and set on a lightweight base, its unexpected composition gives a familiar piece of furniture a distinctly sculptural presence.

Brief
The aim was to challenge the conventional idea of what a cabinet can be, moving away from a piece that simply sits against a wall towards an object that can occupy the centre of a space. The design needed to be visually distinctive while preserving the functionality of a fully equipped bar cabinet.

Approach
The cabinet body is elevated on a single central pole and placed on a light base, creating a sense of balance and making the cabinet equally present from every angle. Its doors open through a rotating mechanism developed specifically for the product, moving around a central axis with a subtle rotation. This allows the doors to open without changing the cabinet’s overall silhouette, keeping the object visually intact whether open or closed.
