Overview
Fred & Ginger is a furniture series exploring the poetic idea of two distinct halves forming a single, harmonious whole. The pieces are characterized by clear, sculptural outline and gentle visual tension between two parts, giving the collection strong, memorable presence in space.

Brief
Metoda commissioned a series showcasing their craftsmanship and material expertise through contemporary, emotionally resonant concept. The aim was to create furniture that feels both refined and playful, capable of carrying multiple interpretations while remaining practical for everyday use.

Approach
The dominant idea is innovative joining of two clearly articulated halves, with structural connection hidden inside the central seat cushion. This concealed construction allows forms to read as two independent elements lightly touching, opening associations from flowers, shells, and butterflies to abstract notions like partnership and love. The design team used this duality to create a family of pieces sharing the same conceptual core while allowing variations in proportion and detail.
