Stand for Milla&Milli

Wall and ceiling that never quite hold still: the stand designed for Milla&Milli’s premiere at Salone del Mobile is a quiet showpiece, recognized with a Red Dot Award and an Honorable Mention from the Croatian Designers’ Association.

Overview
Sway is the stand designed for Milla&Milli’s premiere at the Salone del Mobile in Milan, built around the brand’s slogan, “Divine Atmosphere.” Since Milla&Milli’s furniture draws on nature, the stand takes its cue from the forest: soft, moving, and alive.

Brief
Milla&Milli needed a stand for their first appearance at Milan’s furniture fair that could stand apart from the dark, textured furniture it was built to showcase, without competing with it.

Approach
The walls and ceiling are shaped from lightweight fabric, contoured and tinted in a warm grey. A concealed fan system keeps the fabric strips on the ceiling and walls in constant, gentle motion, so the stand never sits still the way a conventional booth would. Warm toned suspended and linear lighting reinforces the effect. The soft palette and fluid lines are a deliberate counterpoint to the furniture’s dark tones and strong textures, letting the collection read clearly against a calmer backdrop.
